Design-Bazaar Loves Downton Abbey

Our sister company, Churchill's Fine Teas, had the pleasure of serving tea at Cincinnati's WCET Downton Abbey event last night. We had 200 guests who enjoyed a tea tasting, hors d'oeuvres and a private sneak peek of the show's new season. Design-Bazaar contributed some vintage and antique items to set up a scene for guests to take pictures. There were hats, fine china and decadent desserts. What more could a Downton Abbey fan ask for?

The scene setup.

Desserts, tea sandwiches and scones galore.

Our Garden Rose china collection.

 The projected abbey.

The event was a true success and we hope that our guest's experience was a memorable one.

Perfect Holiday Hostess Gifts

When visiting loved ones during the holidays it is always important to show your hosts that you appreciate the effort they put into your stay. Here are some hostess gift ideas that we love.

The metallic quality of this tea set is great for the holidays. Add a little cinnamon tea to the set because what is better than drinking that in cold weather?

Desserts are a must when you have guests over. This serving set could be used for chocolate truffles, cookies, etc. The possibilities are endless.

This snack caddy is festive and useful. French macarons are already tempting, but put them on a crystal caddy and I doubt guests will able to resist.

Personalize your hostess set with a cup and saucer just for them. Pair it with a fruit and spice holiday tea so that these tea accessories can be put to use right away.

Napkin rings would be a great gift for any hostess who loves decorating their holiday table. You could even supply them with some festive cloth napkins to complete the look.

The holidays need a little sparkle, and if you know your host has enough tabletop items, why not get them a piece of jewelry? No hostess will ever NOT want jewelry.

It's the time of year to be creative, especially when it comes to gift giving. Believe us, giving someone a present that you put a little extra thought into is even more enjoyable.

Your Thanksgiving Table

Thanksgiving is almost here and the most important part of the holiday is the food, as well as the table it sits on. We love vintage & antique silver. It allows food, flowers and any other decor to pop on a tablescape. Also, we wanted to supply you with some inspiration pictures of how to properly use your silver pieces.

Design-Bazaar in Santa Fe

Sorry we missed you last week, but we were visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of the most artistic & culturally rich cities in the U.S. Therefore, this week we want to share with you some of the must-see attractions, especially when it comes to searching for antique & vintage items.

1. Santa Fe Railyard Farmers Market

This is the place to go if you are searching for fresh produce, chiles, handmade soaps, yarn and anything considered to be delicious. It is open every Saturday from 8am to 1 pm.

2. Santa Fe Artists Market

The Artists Market is right next to the Farmers Market & gives you a chance to see what local artists are making. Really unique items with decent prices. This portion of the market is also open every Saturday from 8am to 1pm.

D-B's Favorite Artist: Kendall White

This artist was fabulous! She molds & dyes cocoon-like forms from wool. The smaller pieces would be beautiful color accents in any home decor.

3. Double Take

Double take was by far the best find of the day. This thrift shop was huge & had every antique/vintage item imaginable. It is a MUST-VISIT store in Santa Fe, located at 120 Aztec Street.

Enough jewelry to make you faint...

Boots, furniture, china...

Traditional rugs...

Silver, Fiesta Ware...

 Vintage clothing...

These locations are just a few of all the amazing attractions in Santa Fe. A couple other places we would recommend include:

Breakfast: Swiss Bistro Bakery & Pastries

Lunch: Pizza Centro

Scenic: Hyde Memorial State Park

Additional Shopping:
Cupcake
Sanbusco Market Center
Santa Fe Plaza (lots of people, lots of shopping)

Don't forget, art galleries are EVERYWHERE in this city.

Oh Santa Fe.... Until next time.
